Winners

The random number generator has spoken! The winner: "Comment Deleted."

Apparently I forgot to exclude the posts that aren't actually posts.

So, running it again, I got: Heather Dixon!

Wait. Didn't provide a drawing. This isn't turning out as easy as I thought.

So this time, I removed all duplicate posts and non-entries, and ran it again. 3rd time winner is: Inma!

So the question is, Inma provided two drawings, one of which I culled for the random selection---so do I do the arbitrarily selected one, or pick my favorite of the two? Here are the two pictures:

Picking my favorite drawing was even harder than getting the random selection to work out. There are a lot of great drawings that I like for different reasons, so I based my decision on two factors; 1) Will be fun to paint, and 2) Won't take me a week to paint it. My favorite under that criteria: Cedric's flying bison.

Thanks to everyone else who provided entries! This was fun and I'm excited to start working on the paintings. And if Comment Deleted or Heather ever decide to provide a drawing, I'll try to honor your rightful places as winners and do a painting for you, too.

I Paint 4 U!

*EDIT*: If you post an offensive image, I WILL delete your comment. Sorry, but I'm not going to spend time painting something that I'm uncomfortable showing to my family. If your image is deleted, just post a new one instead.

*Edit Mar. 20*: I'm going to make the decision on Tuesday, March 24. So make sure your picture is linked by then!

I want to post more art, but work consumes so much creative energy that when I have time to work on my own thing, I just can't think of anything to draw. But I had this brilliant idea that allows you to do the thinking for me! Here's how it could work:

- Leave a comment and link a drawing you would like digitally painted (preferably one of yours, or your kids' drawings, I'm not going to work on something I don't have permission for).

- I'll select two drawings out of the comments: One at random, and one that I really like.

- I'll paint the drawings and send you the high-res file so you can do whatever you want with it.

- And maybe, if it turns out cool enough, I might make a print and send it to you.

Also, I can't figure out how to post a link in comments, but if you log in using the "Name/URL" field instead of your Google ID, you can put your link in the URL spot. OR just post your picture on your blog and I'll get to it through your Profile (just make sure you let me know which one). Please don't just write the link in your comment though. I don't want to copy-paste a ton of links. Thanks!

Old forest

My environment painting/design skills have improved a ton since I did this two years ago. Unfortunately, I can't show any of the environments I'm doing at work now, and I don't have any time at the moment to paint anything new. But at least this way I've got something "new" to post.
