Some of my favorite results from previous months of Friday drawing sessions. I've gone to many sessions in that time, but most turn out terrible. I'm usually showing up late so these are all between 15-60 minutes.

We didn't actually use a red light (that would have been interesting), I just wanted to paint values but didn't want to go monochromatic. |
Wow! these are amazing! good work!
ReplyDeleteva va voom
ReplyDeleteOkay. Va va voom? Really? I thought that sketching girls for art's sake was supposed to be dispassionate and professional. Uh-huh. That's what Christensen told me. The big fat liar. Here, in the comments, we find the truth. And I don't know how anybody could look so bored and disgusted, standing there with her bikini on in the middle of the end of autumn when it's freezing and people are vooming all around her, unless it's a defense mechanism, and she just needs the money for her aging, dying mother.
ReplyDeleteHmmph.
K: You have to understand Matthew. This is a guy who spends his days drawing Star Wars Transformers. We keep it to ourselves when he emits an inappropriate va voom or two.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! That red one is especially terrific
ReplyDeleteman these are incredifun. what are you using to paint these in 10-15 mins?
ReplyDeleteI love the last one, both design and light are very strongly stated
ReplyDeletereally inspiring painting man, love the palette.
ReplyDeleteThese studies are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBut they're still cartoons! These are caricatures.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: I happen to like cartoons.
ReplyDeleteNickson: Just the first one is 15 minutes. The others are closer to 60 minutes. I think these are all Painter 12.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!

ReplyDeleteSo - sorry for asking - but how are these drawing sessions taking place? Are you all lined up with pc and cintiq?
ReplyDeleteJørgen: I just have a tablet and laptop in the session. Everyone else is usually using paper and charcoal.
