I posted this up on the Avalanche blog a couple of days ago but forgot to put it here. I realized after I posted it that it might be better if there were feathers falling around him, but then I decided it wasn't worth the extra work.

ReplyDeleteFrom farther away, the gold chicken looks like a gold bunny. The beak looks like the bunny's ears sticking up, and then the bunny's paws are in front of him, and he's kind of cuddled down on them.

Who you callin' a chicken? Great image Sam. Really funny.
ReplyDeleteLove it. The attitude is great as is the use of color.
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting into words what I have trouble understanding in terms of appeal as well. It's funny that I can show friends artwork like yours and your fellow artists and they immediately say, " I can see why YOU would like that." They understand what I like, yet I don't know how or why. DESIGN and STYLE. I think you were right in that it is a little magical...sometimes and days you just "know" what works and others you just don't.
Precious light!!! Wonderful colour and... and... the drawing is really funny!!!!!
