Brains
I had this idea of a mad scientist with a malevolent cupcake for a brain and it evolved into this.
Here's another monster with a different brain for a work friend who wanted posters for her Halloween party and an earlier design for the painting. I like both of these monsters a lot better than the one I used, but the faces/horns were awkward when I tried to pose him with the scientist. I was heavily influenced by Todd Harris's designs on these guys.

The first concept is incredible, I really loved the shape of it!!! And the painting is priceless, as always, Sir!!!

Great stuff. I agree with the top crop being better, but it's always nice to see more. Speaking of Todd Harris...what's up with him? He ok? He hasn't updated his blog in forever.

ReplyDeleteGreat line quality in the sketches. I like how the character takes up most of the shot in the cropping, it makes him look even larger, nice job.
ReplyDeleteTimely. Have you thought of selling the rights to this thing to Sweet Tooth Fairy or So Cupcake or any of those other trendy "cupcakeries" that are popping up everywhere, like weeds?
