WoW TCG Illustrations

I wasn't sure when these released so I was afraid to post them until I'd waited for a good while.  As you can see, the epic cards are assigned to epic artists, and the bunnies and pigs come to me. :) Seriously though, the WoW card game guys have been great to work with and I'm happy to get the squirrel-y assignments.

  4. I'm culturally unattuned here, which is fine; kind of my theme song. I am intrigued by the range of texture styles I see in these cards. And just flat out amazed - thinking about how your brain must work, how you perceive. When I first knew Guy, and I saw how he "Heard" recorded music, it really was an eye-opening (so to speak) thing for me. He heard in layers, levels, individual sounds that came together into a whole, but still, for him, could be considered individually. I just heard music. I think I just see light, too.

Lots of artists can make a dragon look epic; it takes an epic artist to make a bunny or a pig that cool, though. The WoW art director knows his stuff.

  19. Each of them look stunning in their own way, the top one is more complex in nature, love the

way your technique is being absorbed around in a great way!

Hi Sam, first of I'd like to say that since I discover your works they have been for me a great source of inspiration!

My question: for a junior 2D concept artist what's the best way to achieve a wow's TCG illustrator position?

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
