Classic Actress

We did an exercise at work where we had to design a classic actress. The point was to capture that certain type of charisma special to that era. We do these pretty fast; I think this was about an hour.

  1. Did you have a little reference for this or was it pulled from your imagination?

  2. Very solid character!
Also it is a great idea of an exercise, sounds like fun! Need to do it also.

  3. David: We had a folder full of reference images to pull from, but the character is a new one (not based on an existing actress).

Dmitry: It is a good exercise, I would recommend it!

  4. Hi Sam
    Beautiful piece.

I'm curious... when are you working on a paiting, do you start with greytones on the characters or did you used only in this one exercise?

  6. Thanks everyone!

Junior: I usually don't paint grey tones first, but I think that's a fine way to go.
