Shadows

Did this for a Liahona article.  The printed version I saw had different colors and lots of pixelation, so I don't know what went wrong (probably something on my end).  At any rate, now you can see what it was meant to look like:

  1. This is so much fun to look at. I love how you got the entire composition to feel like it is coming down one the poor little girl

  4. Now why the pixilation in the print version, I wonder? Did they screw up the file and interpolate it into a lower DPI, I wonder? It can happen. Like if their software printed the thumbnail instead. And a color shift? Perhaps they didn't compensate for the workspace environment correctly. Are you using some weird color profile? This is a very nice illustration. I like the smoothness of it, and the interesting spectrum of shadow-blues. And I know how the girl is feeling, too. I remember.

  6. This one is just great Sam.....Awesome rendering and lighting.....Yeah its true that print media has its own limitations about colors and we 'RGB people' always struggle with it. Keep posting keep inspiring.....

  7. Wonderful! What a beautiful palette. If only, the clock perspective seems slightly odd to me, but probably it's only because the rest is so damn perfect!

  13. Fantastic mood and lighting, love the colors and all the small details. Just out of curiousity - how much layers did you use, and what's the actual size of this piece?
    Great work again :)!

  24. Nice! Did you work in industry standard CMYK? If not, keep in mind those mass production printing presses have nowhere near the gamut of a fine art photo printer, and thus do a shitty job converting from RGB.
